Ahhh Fall!
It’s still pretty warm out. But, with the passing of Labor Day my mind turns towards Fall. I love Fall! The colors, the coolness of the morning air. Thoughts of pumpkins, and pies and all that comes with it. To me it’s the prelude to the holidays which I also love.
But, with that also comes thoughts of preparing the house for all that is coming. Sometimes weatherizing is necessary. You know, weatherstripping, caulking, perhaps even adding extra insulation. We all want to be comfortable and save money too! From everything that I have been reading lately all of that is necessary to achieve those goals. My thought to go along with that is that it is great to keep the cold out and the costs down. However, the air I want circulating in my house through the Fall and Winter needs to be as clean as possible.
To achieve the goal of clean indoor air there are lots of things to be considered. Everything from vacuuming consistently with a good filtering vacuum to using an air purifier, to having the heating system maintained well, to making sure you change your air filters every month. So many things to be considered including having the ducts cleaned every 5 to 7 years. You’d be surprised by the things that can collect in air ducts over time. Anyway, just some food for thought for the upcoming season.
