Holidays are Coming – Time to Think About Indoor Air Quality?
I know your first reaction is, “ummm, no not right now.” You think about all the time and expense that is fast approaching and indoor air quality is probably not super high on the priority list. Well, maybe it still could be.
It is just not that difficult or costly to make some improvements in your indoor air quality. Honeslty, the most important thing could just be to make sure that your home is well ventilated. Exhaust fans in bathrooms (probably already there just need some cleaning). Good venthoods in the kitchen (again, probably already there just need a good cleaning). And, even letting in just a little outdoor air every once in a while can drastically improve the indoor air quality. Of course, don’t forget to change those air filters regularly. That always helps.
I’m sure you are either thinking about using the fireplace or already have. That’s ok. Just remember to have the gas ones checked for leaks and proper ventilation and the wood burning ones cleaned and the flue checked out.
Truly, none of these things are difficult or costly. Just a little time and perhaps some elbow grease. The benefits will be well worth it.
