Indoor Air Quality: Can Air Purifiers Help?
I happen to be a big fan of air purifiers to improve the indoor air quality in my home. I use them and I know they are effective. However, I began to wonder what some of the experts are saying about them. We all know there are all kinds of indoor air pollutants. Things like mold, carbon monoxide, pet dander, dust, dust mites, tobacco smoke this list is seemingly endless. Can an air purifier really help with any of these? So began my search.
I came across an article put out by the Air Purifier Guide (airpurifierguide.org). It explained what the top 10 indoor air pollutants really are and whether or not an air purifier can help with any of them. Most of their information came from either the Environmental Protection Agency or the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It was really good information. The bottom line of the article was that out of the 10 indoor air pollutants six of them could be helped with use of a high quality air purifier. That was very good to hear.
