Cleaned The Dryer Vent Lately???
Okay, so I learned a pretty expensive lesson recently. And, I felt the need to share so that perhaps I can help someone avoid the same fate. While I have been fairly consistent at cleaning the lint trap on my dryer and cleaning the vent in the house and outside the house, I have definitely been missing something, I have come to the realization that there is something else I should have been doing.
My dryer just quit on me out of nowhere the other day. I checked the door switch, fine. I had a friend help me check the thermo switch and whatever other switch there was, all fine. Then we took the front cover off. Oh my word! Lint everywhere, literally everywhere. It had gotten so gunked up it blocked the blower wheel. So, of course it broke and, consequently burned up the motor. A couple of days and several hundred dollars later…lesson learned!
Moral of the story? Periodically thoroughly remove all lint everywhere even from inside the front cover of the dryer. It will save lots of money, time and frustration. And your clothes will actually dry in a timely fashion…bonus!
