Indoor Air Quality Guidelines for New Homes
Well, we’ve known for a while now that indoor air quality is very important in our homes. And, of course, the EPA has known. And now they are putting guidelines out there for new home construction to go along with the Energy Star guidelines that have been in place for a while. This new “rating” is in response to our preference for better indoor air quality. The consumer really does matter.
Anyway, the new rating is called “Indoor airPLUS.” All the pertinent information you can find here: http://www.epa.gov/indoorairplus/about.html. Hopefully the information will be helpful and make us even more aware that our voices are being heard.
Of course, that is for new construction. So, what about the homes we live in that are not “new”. Is there anything that can be done? Of course, there is. There is always something that can be done to help us breathe easier in our own homes. Just review some of my previous blogs for some really good tips on this.
