Spring Allergies and Your Indoor Air Quality
Spring has definitely sprung. Especially in middle Tennessee. According to news sources yesterday the highest a pollen count in the outdoor atmosphere can be is 12% and yesterday middle Tennessee touted a whopping 11.8% Wow! No wonder we are sniffling, sneezing and wheezing through our days. Are there any quick fixes? No, not really. Just some things we can incorporate to at least help.
Of course, we love the “fresh” air. But, too often it includes all those things that lead to our sniffling. We just need to try to eliminate those things in our indoor air because we can’t do a whole lot about the outdoor air at this point. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America suggests the best things to do are to eliminate the source of allergens as the best way to clear the indoor air. We have suggested before the cleaning of carpets (or eliminating them if that’s possible), vacuuming regularly, cleaning draperies, upholstery, keeping windows and doors shut and keeping surfaces as dust free as possible. The AAFA suggests that allergens in surfaces are most likely worse than those in the air.
We might not be able to help in the carpet cleaning (although we know people who can), the vacuuming or cleaning the draperies. However, we can help with ridding the air in your home from the allergens in ductwork and even possibly cut down on the amount of dusting you do. Having your air ducts cleaned can definitely make a difference in the quality of your indoor atmosphere and improve some of those pesky allergy symptoms. We have hear on numerous occasions from customers that it has made a tremendous difference in their breathing atmosphere. This is just one example of a customers reaction to having their ducts cleaned:
“Mr. B (Warren) I have been meaning to write you since our air ducts were cleaned. I know that you expressed concern over the fact that our ceilings were finished even in the garage and we could not physically look into the lines. However, I could not be more pleased – the amount of dust in our home is almost non-existent! I noticed this the actual day the guys cleaned and it has only continued to improve. Both of our teenagers are not using their asthma inhalers while at home and I rarely have to dust. For a Mom who is cleaning fanatic, this is incredible! I would highly recommend you to everyone and please feel free to give me as a reference. However, I seriously doubt your excellent service needs references. Again, thanks for the excellent job!”
So, as always please contact us today if you would like to improve the quality of air yo are breathing in your home!
