Easy Fixes for Indoor Air Quality
Sometimes time is not something we feel we have a lot of. That is true especially when it comes to paying attention to home care and maintenance issues. Well, at least thats the way I feel about it. So, like any somewhat tech savvy consumer I “googled” what might be some quick fixes to improving the air quality in my home. And, of course, I actually found some pretty good ideas.
First idea was to make sure you are getting proper ventilation in your home. Difficult in the winter months, but not impossible.
The next was to utilize a HEPA air filter. That makes a lot of sense. I’ve known for some time that HEPA is the way to go but for whatever reason just dismissed it. Even though I’ve known that HEPA is better than regular I’ve not paid enough attention to what it actually means. So, here it is. HEPA stands for high-efficiency particulate air. That even sounds like it would work better. You can get HEPA filters to replace the regular filters in your system. Or, you can also use stand alone HEPA air purifiers for individual rooms or the entire house. Either way you are utilizing fairly easy means to improve the condition of the air you and your family are breathing everyday in your home.
The third idea was really more of a warm weather fix. It was to use the AC regularly. We can store that one in the memory bank for just a few short months from now. Source: http://www.webmd.com/women/home-health-and-safety-9/indoor-air?page=2
These were great suggestions and none were extensive or even difficult. It’s nice to know that there are simple things we can do to improve our indoor breathing atmosphere as we all work to take better care of our families and ourselves.
